Job Creation in India from a different perspective

Human figures moving around a large jobs written figure

Job creation is a huge challenge for the whole world, even the developed nations find it hard to keep up the pace. Outside India job creation specially in the western hemisphere is more of a genuine problem but in India its a perceived government problem. Let me explain you how. Suppose you own an industry were you need some people on specific jobs which are vacant or you just opened a small company and want some well of expertise to help you out and fill important positions. In both the cases what will be your requirements ?

Eligibility criteria
Skill set
Proper education
Communication skills,etc

Now for recruitment purpose you go to a college or university any where in India (leaving a few top colleges like the IIT and IIM, etc). We are talking about most colleges and universities these days not all of them. Now you start interviewing new fresh students who are just passed their degree examinations or are holding their degrees on hand. Now the job requirements you have set for your precious industry must be matched in order to complete the goal of your recruitment drive. Now out of a 100 students you interviewed, 95 students dint even match the basic criteria. The basic criteria being communication skills and aptitude. Yeah but they have their degrees right ? Still why would you choose even one of these 95 students even if they are eligible on paper ? Either you would want an inefficient work force, cheap labours, massive losses, irreversible conditions which ultimately lead to the closure of your whole unit. Who was on the losing side here ? the company.

Another scenario, which is a true event happened before me. A big some what reputed college was facing a problem of students strikes. The reason for strikes was less job opportunities or campus placements. Well all students were in full support and even aggressive. After days of negotiations the college management called in a small company for placements. Most of those students got rejected and some who were leading the pack were latter humiliated.

Both these situations, one being a hypothetical yet obvious condition and other a true event bound to happen. The real problem in job creation in India is ineligibility of most youths. Youths form a very large part of the Indian society but the un-skilled ones are more then the required skilled class. Here un-skilled ones are combined with uneducated labours in construction sites. Its not that harsh to accept but its the exact reality Indians are facing. The only solution to this problem is to first accept it, yes there is a problem within me and i don't have that x-factor which i need to work on. If this large number of useless youth turns itself into a large workforce, who can stop them from getting jobs ? Still that time is quite far from over.
Now well go in the origins of this potential youth force which cant be used in the present form. This youth passes its exams by copying pre-written answers from exam guides and latter cheats to achieve their personal class ranks, obviously ranks never promised them jobs though but still they run after it. The parents are more to blame in this way since they are the ones who create this paradigm inside the minds of these youths. Then they somehow pass their schools and enter the colleges, same methods, different guides, same memorised answers, same ranks, still far away from being skilled. Engineering colleges take this cheapness to a whole new level, even the projects, files, thesis, etc which should have been done by the students to test what they have learnt all those years is made by private small time shop keepers. The hilarious part is that those shop keepers are technically uneducated and are creating projects and assignments for degree holders who are learning the same thing for four long years. That youth would have had his report card on his face even if the projects and assignments were forced on them to be made on their own leave the flawed examination procedure on side. Extra curricular, practical knowledge, viva voice, etc these marks are never given on performance of that student but on various non-academic points.

After all this so called fake grooming, you expect that student to hold a position in ISRO ?
a lieutenant in the army ?
an entrepreneur ?
CEO of a company ?
director of a firm ?

Only those youths get genuine jobs who literally work for them from the start. Companies wants quality not quantity. After literally preparing for something and having that proper knowledge of your field you can achieve any thin you want. You might even open your own company one day and start recruiting people who share your passion. You'll always see yourself in them, the genuine ones.

Be true to your self and everything will seem possible.
