Crunching Tiger, feared Dragon

Indian soldiers walking during 1962 Sino-Indian war

The on going tussle of supremacy and war-of-words diplomacy hasn't gone too well for the so called mighty china. Even with all those Indian media hypes about Chinese aggression and Chinese media propaganda things are exactly opposite on the border. The face off between mighty war crafted Indian Army against a huge obsolete giant was always expected. Numbers don't add up to win wars or to dominate heights for regional powers or global domination, specially in new-age world of electronic warfare and force multiplier strategies of forces around the world. From the time of the humongous Red Army to the 1971 instrument of surrender. Wars have evolved. The Red Army was supposed to win world war 2 on its own, at least on paper. German Wehrmacht literally was cutting butter with hot knife and reached suburbs of Moscow before the Red Army realised what had gone through them. The superior tactics have always won wars not numbers. Superior equipments on the other hand play the biggest role in deciding a tactic. It was the German Panzer vs obsolete soviet junk, even the American Sherman had lost in front of the Panzer and Tiger of the Wehrmacht. Then came fire from the skies, the Luftwaffe. Pounded soviet cities and red army positions as if those were mere target practise. It took soviets 3 years to fight, lose, rise, rearrange, learn and counter-attack the Germans. We don't expect wars of these times to go for years specially with so much sophistication. Getting back to the Tiger-Dragon debate. Its exactly poised like the Nazi vs Soviet debate. We aren't going in the intentions of Nazis here, its just the military part. You in your whole inventory haven't got a single fighter aircraft to counter the sheer air dominance by the Indian Su-30MKI, which as i mentioned earlier is a force multiplier. Similarly Indian infantry is a a battle hardened force and its professionalism is famous world over. They have proved there might in all UN peace keeping missions as well as wars and counter-insurgency operations. Then comes the naval part, in this china has more nuclear submarines but mostly obsolete ones which make more noise. Indians simply bought P8i, the best submarine killers in the world. We'll go more in detail in my next post and would compare weapon by weapon comparisons, possible strategies, nuke threat and many more...
keep checking :)
